Our original branch, the North London Sling Library, was set up in November 2012 as there was a lack of support for new and existing sling users in our local area, the nearest libraries in south London and Harrow not easily reachable for many in north London. We all have a great passion for slings and love to enable other parents in any way possible, so we pooled our resources and started a library operating from a popular playgroup every Friday morning in Arnos Grove. Not long after we were offered space for a second branch of the library at the Nappy Ever After cloth nappy shop near Kings Cross St Pancras station.

Since then we have grown and moved venues a few times, including becoming a Community Interest Company as Slinging London CIC to cover all of our sling services. We now run weekly libraries in Bloomsbury and Waltham Forest as well as a monthly one in Enfield, all offering the same great service to help parents and carers carry their babies, toddlers and preschoolers safely and comfortably.
